Negative taken of Henry L. Jones, Jr. Judge Jones was appointed United States Magistrate Judge Eastern District of Arkansas, Little Rock, Arkansas in 1978 and remains in this position as of 2001. After graduating from University of Michigan Law School in 1972, Judge Jones began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Gerald W. Heaney in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit (1972-1973). He had a private practice from 1973-1974 and served as an Instructor for Trial Practice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from 1974-1978. Involved in many community activities, Judge Jones serves as a tutor for first-year law students, on the Board of Directors for both the Arkansas Council of NCCJ and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, and as a Sunday school teacher, Trustee, and Deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
